Sis stood on the scale and asked how much she weighed. Then she stood on 1 foot saying, "OK, now how much?"

Portapottty? Nope, sis says a handyman bathroom.

Sis: I wish I had more oberawls. Mom: yep overalls are always cool!

Sis to GPat and her friend Katherine: "You know I'm the rough one...but I'm also the fun one". I'd say we are in trouble!

Sis was telling me how she learned abt heaven and angels in school. "Did you know heaven is in StLouis?"

Brother on counting sheep: mine jump over a cliff and I make them wear different outfits.

We just passed a "mini speed boat". You've seen one: a wave runner.

Proud: sis just sang "brussel sprouts, brussel sprouts. I smell brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts are my favorite!"

Catching up

I just found a whole pile of little notes that I never got online.

Smarts
I met the family at a restaurant one evening. When they arrived, Brother, five at the time, was surprised to see me. He said, "You are smarter than we are. You're already here."

Learning to read
As he learned letters Brother was amazed at what he could find.
"I found two tickets" (anything that started with the letter t he called a ticket)
"Ferris wheel has the word 'fair' in it."
"And when you say, 'oh', it has the letter o in it."

A new show
After he asked a time or two we agreed to DVR Power Rangers. Four at the time Brother aptly commented, "You know my life hasn't change much Power Rangers. Really things aren't that different."

Perspective
Brother declared, "I have an exciting future ahead of me." Of course we agreed and then learned he was just talking about that day, which included a school picnic and plans for camping. He was five.

A man in his time plays many parts

To brother, when he was in first grade, the parts of life in order included: baby, toddler, kid, teenager, man, grownup, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, dead.

Bored

Saturday Brother had nothing but complaining about running errands and not getting to stay home. Within an hour after we got home..,"I'm bored".

Don't want to forget

Even the regular days and things have their own goodness. The day is a moment in itself, and it is shocking how fast it goes. This morning for example, Sis insisted that she wear one of each color barret that was in her clothes - blue, white, pink, green, yellow. She wore them all. Brother was dismayed. This week is state apptitude testing and he did not feel prepared enough for the math section because he had missed that specfic review (because he was in the gifted program). Love those littles!

Rain, rain go away

It was raining this morning so, as Sis said, I had to put the lights and swipers on.

Sis: jelly beans make me smiley and happy!

We rode lots of what Sis calls "excavators" today. You know moving stairs.

And this weekend Brother learned finger kneading aka "weaving".

In case you didn't know our current president is Rock Lavama.

We had fried rice for dinner Monday. Sis had requested "French rice" but we figured it out.

Sis tonight when it came up you must be 21 to drink: "but you're not THAT old mom. You're still young and pretty." At her guess, she said I'm 17.

Trying to avoid a nap Sis asked me, "Can't you see I'm pure sad?"

And asking for her favorite dinner: corn on the dog (aka corn dog, not to be confused with corn on the cob)
