Ouch!

Started the day with a bloody nose, which was a result of overzealous wrestling. "That's the first time she beat me up. I didn't know she was that strong," bro told me as I got an ice pack. Poor sis was such a wreck. Took longer to help calm her down than the injured player.

Trick or treat

Driving to trick or treat spot and playing 20 questions to guess a candy. Lovin my fam!

Sis on the way to the tball field tonight where her team and a pink team gathered: oh we must be fighting pink tonight!

Fear

Sis said she is "afierced" of everything. We said brother was afraid of being late. His response? "Yeah that'll kill me".

KC Royals

Another Royals fan was born over the weekend. It's not their baseball prowess or home town support, simply the fact they have a "tiara" on the stadium. Sis thought the gold crown was about the coolest architectural feature ever!

Milk

Bro: what do you mean it's only 2% milk? Isn't it 100% milk?

When asked how she spends her time sis said she spends much of it thinking about unicorns.

Chicken thang

Watching men's moguls in the Olympics sis asked why they all do that "chicken thing" at the end of the run. After some prodding I got her to explain she thought it looked like in water skiing when you lean over and make the water rush up. She had the right animal at least as I can see how stopping at the end of the run makes snow spray like a "rooster tail"! Hence her memory of the "chicken thangie" and her insistence I should know exactly what she meant, "You know this mom. Come on! Dad does it. Bill does. You know the thing with the chicken with the thing."

Learning to Read

Sis is in that fun stage of reading where discovering a word lights up her face. I handed her a receipt and suggested she find where it said, "Thank you." She asked me if a word - the right word - was "Thank". I affirmed, asking her what was next. "Well it much be cue!"

Desert scenes

Bro on SW driving: New Mexico is just a bunch of grassy stuff and cliffs. You can take a nap and wake up and it looks exactly the same.

Sis stood on the scale and asked how much she weighed. Then she stood on 1 foot saying, "OK, now how much?"

Portapottty? Nope, sis says a handyman bathroom.

Sis: I wish I had more oberawls. Mom: yep overalls are always cool!
